Did you know that all green coffee is graded on a scale of 1-100 based on things like the bean’s shape, size, condition, the altitude it was grown at, and how many defects a crop has? Specialty coffee is graded at an 80 or higher. Anything less is considered commodity coffee, and is not only cheaper, but also lower quality. You can taste the difference especially when compared side by side. At Living Room Roasters, we ONLY roast specialty coffees to ensure the highest quality coffee experience.

Our green coffee suppliers are committed to creating long-lasting relationships with every farmer they work with and in turn encourage roasters like us to establish long-term relationships with the farmers as well. Each farm has different needs and those needs are addressed on a case-by-case basis. Their goal is to return 80-90% of every dollar made back to the farmer. By supporting Living Room Roasters, you are directly supporting the farmers and their families.

Most large roasting companies are using large equipment roasting up to 75 pounds of coffee at a time which makes it more difficult to keep roasts consistent. Living Room Roasters currently uses a 2 pound roaster which ensures, not only consistency, but also quality in every roast.

All of Living Room Roaster’s coffee is roasted in Toccoa, GA, by Hayli and Allen Brewer. Coffee has become an integral part of our culture, and we want to enrich people’s coffee experience.
